Saint Arunagirinathar composed this Tiruppugazh in one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga, Pazhani.
Meaning:- Saint Arunagirinathar talks about his past life or rather for the sake of a common man. He says "Oh Muruga ! I was neither devoted to prostrate at Your lotus feet, nor have I worshipped Your favorite abode Pazhani. I have never pursued any lofty ideals in this world, however still wish not to be reborn despite all my shortcomings. Will my desires ever end? You are the saviour for those who surrendered themselves to You. Oh Great One ! The great poet who rendered those victorious poems, Tirugyanasambandar is certainly Yourself (Your incarnation) indeed. Oh Lord Muruga, One, Who is the protector of the damsel Valli, belonging to the valorous Kuravas lineage. (Please help me to get over my desires so that I would never be reborn)".
